 Space To Relax

This is an example of just you can create space for living whilst letting the light in and feel like your outdoors.
It really highlights our collective work ethic, ideas, and the adjustments we can make from a standard conservatory into something a little different. Nothing is too much for us to handle, or too small to push aside.

Space For Living

This is some of the best work we’ve done so far, and we’re happy to do the same for you. We’re committed to fostering beneficial and long lasting relationships with our clients by always striving to be the best design and installation service that we can. While the particular needs of our clients may vary, our experienced team never fails to get the job done right.

Energy Efficiency - Solar Control - Sound Insulation - Privacy Glazing.

We design for your requirements

We always aim to create temperature control with the aid of design and product specification.

Solar reflective easy clean glass can be a great option on a south facing additional space or you may wish for a roof vent.

With a north facing room we are looking at pyrolytic coatings to ensure we keep the heat in. We offer heating options from the basics through to a full temperature control system that acts as air conditioning in the summer and a heating system in the winter months.

We install our extensions to your home with the latest glass technology to keep you feeling cooler in summer, and warmer in winter. All our sealed units are filled with argon, an inert gas, and have a coating to reflect heat back into the room. This insulates over four times better than ordinary single glazing and over twice as well as standard domestic double glazing.

Horizon’s understanding of energy is a terrific advantage over competitors as we take a holistic approach from the base work, walls, window and door system up to the roof to ensure energy efficiency

We put security first with our multi-point locking systems, key-locking handles, hook-bolts and window hinge-side security devices as standard. We internally glaze each unit so that the glass can only come out from the inside. Both our orangeries and conservatories also incorporate quite a unique reinforced wall frame design to provide higher levels of structural stability and security with every unit of glass being toughened safety glass.

Horizon offer a selection of roof coverings such as an easy clean glass roof which reduces noise when it’s raining and help reduce the solar gain on a hot summers day. A glazed roof will give your space an airy feeling and it can be quite a surreal watching the snowflakes fall above you in the winter or simply dining under the stars. A polycarbonate option can help with your budget and comes in clear, opal, bronze or a blue tint. of course we can do the traditional build with a tiled roof.

A bit more than just a conservatory - wouldn't you agree?

Colour Your Life

UPVC frames for conservatories are the ever popular favourite with the todays modern homeowners. It’s virtually a fit and forget product requiring very little maintainance throughout the duration of its very extensive lifespan. The thermal efficiency performance of UPVC is a great benefit and the colour options available now are extensive.

Permissions

Planning Permission is required sometimes and Horizon will help you gain approval with their vast experience in dealing with many planning officers.

Where approval for the proposed structure is required, full plans will be prepared, submitted and administrated to your local authority by Horizon to acquire planning consent for your conservatory installation.

Building Regulations

Building Regulations are a separate matter to planning permission however many conservatories in England and Wales are exempt. If they are required then we will instruct our team to gain structural calculations and heat loss calculations or indeed anything that they require.

Water Board Authority Approval

Where the proposed conservatory is to be installed over or within 3.0m of a public sewer Horizon will help gain the permission of the relevant water board authority. They will then give recommendations on the construction of the foundations of the proposed base, we will then apply for the local building control officer to inspect the construction over the sewer.

Covenant or Management Estate Approval

Some properties have restrictive covenants attached to their property which are private agreements between land owners that restrict the way land may be used and developed. Other properties may need to have an agreement from their property management services before installing a conservatory. Horizon can help if any such approval is required for your property and if so will then make the necessary applications to gain these consents for the proposed conservatory.

Party Wall Approval

In some situations, a party wall agreement will be required for the proposed conservatory. This is an agreement between two parties regarding the construction on a boundary separating the two properties and in these circumstances we will help to obtain this approval.

Listed Building Consent

It is a criminal offence to not actually gain listed building consent. It is very important that you ensure that all these approvals are in place before work commences in order to give you peace of mind.
